To prevent accidental deletion or corruption of your data, the Backups section is read-only.

Your backups are stored in a subsection of your cloud drive called Backups, and are categorised by device.

The folders you’ve selected and all files in those folders will be automatically backed up whenever you save a new file or overwrite an existing file, provided the desktop app is running.

Once added, your files will automatically start to back up. The corresponding cloud folder will automatically be created and added as a sub-folder under the name of the computer in Backups. Open the app and then add the local folder you want to backup.Firstly, you will need to install the MEGA Desktop App.How does MEGA Backup work? Set up backups This means all your backed up data can only be seen by you or the intended recipients. We protect all the data on MEGA with zero-knowledge encryption, the highest level of online security. Privacy and security are standard with MEGA, not an optional extra-it’s what we do and what we stand for. On MEGA, you can view and recover backed up files that have been deleted from your local drive, and soon you will easily be able to download older versions of backed up files with our “rewind” feature. This means any changes you make to your backed up files on your local drive will automatically be made to your MEGA files-in real time. Once set up, MEGA automatically copies selected folders and files from your computer to MEGA. MEGA Backup is effectively a one-way sync, from your computer to MEGA.
